Korean International School (KIS) has had the distinct honour of collaborating with the African Centre Hong Kong during the 2023-24 academic year, enriching the educational experience of its primary students. This partnership has focused on promoting understanding and appreciation of diverse cultures, languages, and traditions.

Throughout the year, KIS students engaged in various activities that highlighted the richness of African heritage. Notably, Year 3 students participated in an African Cooking Workshop, where they not only learned to prepare traditional dishes but also immersed themselves in the vibrant culture associated with these culinary practices. This hands-on experience allowed students to gain new skills while fostering a deeper appreciation for African traditions and values.In addition to cooking, the African Centre Hong Kong facilitated storytelling sessions for younger students, sparking creativity and encouraging a love for narratives from different cultures.

These interactive sessions were designed to broaden students’ perspectives and enhance their understanding of global diversity, aligning with KIS’s mission to cultivate a community that respects and values varied experiences and viewpoints.KIS’s commitment to nurturing well-rounded individuals is evident in its approach to education, which emphasizes not only academic success but also the development of empathy and cultural awareness.
