Life at KIS | Student Service
KIS Counselling Service
KIS is pleased to announce
our revised service for our students commencing this month. We welcome the three counsellors from KELY- Child Development Team.
All practitioners are dedicated to establishing and nurturing a relationship between the school, families and the children with whom they are working.
We are very keen to promote positive mental health and student well-being .The service
is free and NOT parent funded, as the school offers a subsidy to those children referred.
The three counsellors have a collective and broad experience working with children with a range of developmental difficulties and disorders including; eating difficulties / disorders, social communication difficulties, attention, emotional, behavioural difficulties and children on the Autistic spectrum. They have worked with children / adolescents and families in many different settings including hospitals/clinics/homes and schools.
All the three counsellors have experience of working with children with emotional / behavioural difficulties. They can help students with resilience, anxiety and coping strategies.
The counsellors are neutral. They work in private and in-confidence.
The referral process can be initiated by parents and / or teachers. If you would be interested to know more details about either of these services and feel that your child may benefit from the therapies offered please contact
